Departure from Almaty
Guide/driver will pick you up from your hotel. On the way, you will know about the city and the country in general. Distance to the lake 55 km on one way. On the way, we make several stopovers. On the way stopover in Ostrich farm (O/R)

Arriving in Bear waterfall
In Turgen we’ll do hiking 1.5 km (one way) to the waterfall, after hiking in trout farm will do lunch.

After hiking, we start to drive back to Almaty. The guide will drive you back to the hotel.

Bear Waterfall


The Zailiisky Alatau Range extends far to the east of Almaty, forming several gorges along the way. One of such gorges, Turgen Gorge, is located 70 kilometers from the city.

The most accessible and famous ones are the Bear Falls (Ayu) and Kairak Falls. Both waterfalls in their own picturesque, excursions to them are different - Bear Falls is available for easy walks, and Kayrak will suit fans of mountain hiking and hiking.
Bear Falls is a 30-meter stream, falling with a noise down. It is cool even on the hottest day, and the energy of the waterfall recharges you for a long time.
According to legend, there used to be a family of bears living near the waterfall, which is the reason for the name.

The road to Turgen Gorge is good, it is located about 70 kilometers from the city of Almaty.
Turgen is a vast village located at the foot of the gorge.
Also in the highest part of the Turgeni Gorge is the famous Asy plateau, with Asy-Turgen Observatory.
Turgeni Gorge is also famous for vineyards located nearby. The grapes grown are used to make Turgeni wines.
Almost all of the way to Bear Falls is in a comfortable Toyota Sequoia off-road vehicle, only the last part includes a walk to the waterfall.
The excursion to Bear Falls consists of two parts - the approach to the beginning of the hiking route and the hike itself.

The walking part of the route is not long, it takes about an hour. You don't need to have any special skills or endurance, even children can make the trip on foot. The road along a small gorge to the waterfall is comfortable and cool, as it is covered with trees.
From the Bear Falls open incredibly breathtaking views of the gorge, which guarantees you interesting photos and impressions.

On the way you can stop at the Ostrich Farm, and for lunch stop at one of the trout farms. There you will be cooked your own caught trout.
